1. About You as a UX Learner

Who are you, and how do you relate to UX design?

Please address the following:

  • Your name, major, and academic year

    Alberto Perches Computer Science Senior

  • Why you are interested in UX design, UI design, or user experience

As a Computer Science student pursuing a career in Software Engineering. UI/UX is very important to enhance user experience for any software I would be writing and designing. I have always liked well designed UI and how thoughtful the deign and layout is.

  • Any prior experience related to design, usability, or digital products

I have created web apps and designed UIs for software applications through the use of various software tools. I have a lot of experience with bad and good UIs due to my experience in software engineering. I also have used a lot software applications and have built a mental note of good and bad UI choices.

  • One or two fun or personal facts (related to creativity, technology, or interests)

I am very interested in technology and have been for most of my life. I started programming in 2019 but never dove into UI until later. I also like building PCs and gaming.

  • Areas you most want to improve, and why

I want to make better designed UIs. Most of my software experience is related to backend work and I lack experience with making clean and functional UIs.

Goal: Identify your current UX skill set and learning needs.
